Sebastopol Geese

Originating from Southeastern Europe, the domestic Sebastopol Goose was originally bred for meat production. Due to their low egg production and hatch rate this soon became a less desired meat bird and are now listed by the Livestock Conservancy as threatened.

We personally raise this breed for their ornamental looks and to keep the grass cut short. They are a quieter and more docile goose than other breeds.

Ganders can reach a mature weight up to 14lbs, while geese reach a mature weight up to 12lbs and lay 25 – 35 large eggs in the spring.
