Bourbon Red Turkeys
Originating from Bourbon County Kentucky, the heritage breed Bourbon Red turkey is raised for their fantastic meat. Our birds are selected for their docile characteristics as well as large size.
Males can reach a mature weight up to 32lbs, while females reach a mature weight up to 18lbs. Once butchered these turkeys loose about 30% total weight.
Since we pasture raise all of our birds, the flavor of their meat is vastly enhanced. Bourbon Red’s meat is luxurious as it is entirely dark meat- even the breast meat!
Our turkey hens lay from spring to fall about 100 eggs a year. Once our stock has grown, sales for that years hatchlings begin in September.
